The American Library Association has chosen the best in children’s literature. “The American Library Association (ALA) today (January 11, 2016) announced the top books, video and audio books for children and young adults – including the Caldecott, Coretta Scott King, Newbery and Printz awards – at its Midwinter Meeting & Exhibits in Boston.”

Recent studies confirm the importance of improving language skills for infants and toddlers by the simple act of reading to them.

The Riverton Free Library will be closed for the holidays at 5 PM on Thursday, December 24th, and all day on Friday December 25th. It will also be closed on New Year’s Eve at 5 PM, December 31st, as well as all day on Friday, January 1st.
