Love Libraries

So many of us remember the first time we were enchanted by a trip to the library.
Based upon a NY Times review of the book, The Library Book, by Susan Orlean, 12 Authors Write About the Libraries They Love shows that you are not alone in your appreciation of libraries.

The Importance of Public Libraries
Is the public library obsolete?
So begins sociologist Eric Klinenberg’s article in a recent (8 Sept 2018) New York Times opinion piece, entitled “To Restore Civil Society Start With the Library.” He states, “Libraries stand for and exemplify something that needs defending: the public institutions that — even in an age of atomization, polarization and inequality — serve as the bedrock of civil society.”
Our little library has always embraced the philosophy that our facility, our staff, our patrons, our volunteers, make our community a better place to live. More than just a place to pick up a good book or do research on a project, the library continues to outreach for all through its programming for the young, and not so young, You are always welcome to join us!
Thank you for your continued attendance and financial support!
