Join us this spring as we celebrate The Bard with movies you might (or might not have!) known were Shakespeare adaptations.

This week’s selection is O (2002) – O is the school’s best basketball player and an NBA hopeful. He is adored by all, including his coach and a beautiful classmate. He has a troubled friend–the coach’s son–who is deeply resentful of his father’s preference to O on and off the court. The seeds of mistrust are sown and it sets into motion a disturbing chain of events. Rated R.

Join the Burlington County Parks Department in celebrating our country’s 250th anniversary with this series of talks about Burlington County’s role in the American Revolution, covering the historical period from December 1776 to June 1778.

December 1776: In December of 1776, Patrick Henry wrote “these are the times that try men’s souls”. While Washington’s men read those words in Pennsylvania, British and Hessian troops were occupying Burlington County. The dreaded Hessians lead by Count Carl von Donop, and the 42nd Scottish Regiment of Foot, were some of the best soldiers in the world, and they roamed the villages and farms of Burlington County. Join historian Eric Orange as we examine the weeks and days leading up to the Battle of Trenton, and how what happened in Burlington County was so consequential to American independence.
