Spring into Shakespeare: “O”

Join us this spring as we celebrate The Bard with movies you might (or might not have!) known were Shakespeare adaptations.

This week’s selection is O (2002) – O is the school’s best basketball player and an NBA hopeful. He is adored by all, including his coach and a beautiful classmate. He has a troubled friend–the coach’s son–who is deeply resentful of his father’s preference to O on and off the court. The seeds of mistrust are sown and it sets into motion a disturbing chain of events. Rated R.

This movie is based on Othello. If you’d like to read the play before watching, stop by Riverton Library to check out a copy. If not, just drop in to enjoy the movie!

This movie showing will be on April 22nd from 6 to 8 pm!

Audience: Adult, Emerging Adult
Type: Film & TV

About Emily Terifay

Hi! My name is Emily Terifay. I am a current student at Clarion University and studying to become a Librarian. I love books and reading, my favorite genres are fantasy and sci-fi. I also have a mini library at my house and I add more books to it at least every two months. I also have two guinea pigs, Timothy and Lemon who are adorable, if not a little annoying at times.
