This year’s theme for Black History Month is The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity. Join us in celebrating the many achievements, and contributions African Americans have made to the community and society. Also, look at the BCLS books of interest for this month such as Lifting as We Climb by Evette Dionne and Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe.

With various people in the health care profession getting the vaccine and rollouts set for the different tiers of people, a common question is why should we continue to social distance and wear masks after receiving the shot. The article from NPR details those reasons and explains various aspects of the vaccine.

On February 12th and 15th, all library branches will be closed due to Lincoln’s birthday and Presidents’ Day respectively. Only the BCL branch will be open from 9 am to 5 pm on those days.
