Parenting and Paperbacks

Want to chat with other parents about the parenting book you just read? Are you looking for a place to discuss the joys and difficulties of raising kids? Join us for Parenting and Paperbacks!

We will be talking about a specific topic, and you are invited to read a book (or two) and come ready to add to the conversation. If you don’t have the opportunity to read a book, come for the discussion anyway!

For this meeting, we’ll be talking about communication. Books on this topic include How to Talk to Kids About Anything; What Do You Say: How to Talk to Kids to Build Motivation, Stress tolerance, and a Happy home; Fourteen Talks by Age Fourteen; Voice Lessons for Parents; How to Talk So Little Kids Will Listen; Raising a Socially Successful Child; What Babies Say Before They Can Talk; 1-2-3 Magic Teen; How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen so Kids Will Talk; Talk With Your Kids: 109 Conversations about Ethics and the Things that Really Matter; and My First Baby Signs.

We welcome kids to come along with their grownups. We’ll lay out some toys, but you are responsible for your child while in the library. This event will be on Friday, October 18th at 10:30 am to 11:30 am!

Audience: Adult, Kids, Babies & Toddlers, Family
Type: Book Club

About Emily Terifay

Hi! My name is Emily Terifay. I am a current student at Clarion University and studying to become a Librarian. I love books and reading, my favorite genres are fantasy and sci-fi. I also have a mini library at my house and I add more books to it at least every two months. I also have two guinea pigs, Timothy and Lemon who are adorable, if not a little annoying at times.
