From Nancy Fort
It’s nice to get out of the library every once in a while. I’ve been spending some time at the Palmyra Community Center where I meet with other book lovers once a month to discuss a book that we selected to read as a group. This book club is great! Everybody has their own favorite genre. We have read a quirky dark comedy, “A Man Called Ove”, a true account of the beginning of the FBI, “Killers of the Flower Moon” and, most recently, a fantasy, “Ocean at the End of the Lane.” The group has really pushed me out of my comfort zone.
Our discussions about these books always surprise me. I usually walk away with a viewpoint that I hadn’t even considered while reading the book. Our next meeting is Wednesday, February 20 at 7:00 PM at the Palmyra Community Center. You don’t need to be a Palmyra resident to attend and there is not registration fee. We are reading “Before the Fall” by Noah Hawley. There are lots of copies of this book in the library system so request your copy and come join us!
There’s a gig happen’ and we’d like to get down with you!
Please stop by the library to see what’s new and leave us a note telling us what you love about the library. Our seasonal Valentine display looks almost as good as a box of chocolates and the contest this month asks kids to guess how many conversation hearts are in the jar.
